Responding When Behavior Escalates. Supporting Children Through Challenging Moments

When emotions run high, our response can either escalate the situation or help children regain control. This training focuses on what educators can do in the moment when a child becomes overwhelmed, dysregulated, or emotionally escalated.

Participants will learn practical de-escalation strategies, how to recognize what children are communicating through their behavior, and ways to remain calm, connected, and supportive during challenging moments. Through real classroom scenarios and reflection, educators will build confidence in responding with empathy while maintaining safety and helping children return to learning.

The First 30 Days: Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me, Starting Strong in ECE 

Starting your journey in early childhood education is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. This engaging training is designed to help new educators build confidence, avoid common mistakes, and feel prepared for the realities of the classroom.

Through practical strategies, real-life stories, reflection activities, videos, and discussion, participants will learn how to build positive relationships with children, partner with families, work effectively as part of a teaching team, create welcoming classroom environments, and develop the professional habits that lead to long-term success.

Every participant receives a New Teacher Reflection Workbook filled with activities, practical tools, and resources they can continue using long after the training ends.

From  Escalation to Connection: Finding Calm in Challenging Behavior 

Challenging behavior is everywhere. Classrooms feel heavier. Emotions run higher. Teachers are stretched thin.

Challenging behavior can quickly lead to stress and power struggles in the classroom. This training focuses on shifting how we respond, helping educators move from reactive moments to more intentional, relationship-based approaches. 

Through practical strategies, real classroom scenarios, and guided reflection, participants learn how to prevent power struggles before they begin.

Trauma-Informed Practices

Explore why play is essential to early childhood education, backed by brain science and developmental research. This session helps educators understand how to guide rather than direct, knowing when to step in and when to let children lead. We'll touch on the benefits of risky play, support for growing independence, and how to help families see that play is real preparation for kindergarten.
