One of the best ways to have a successful Colorado Shines rating is preparation. All staff need to feel trained and well-equipped to provide high quality care. This is best learned through hands-on training with examples and immediate feedback following baseline observations.
Both trainings and baseline observations can be used for credit in the Colorado Shines indicators and can increase teachers PDIS 3.0 credential levels.

Absolutely! We are happy to provide programs with ongoing professional development, regardless of whether or not the program participates in Colorado Shines.
Many programs utilize trainings and observations as a means to measure continuous quality improvement, ensuring all of their staff are educated on the latest best practices in ECE.
Some of our sites have used them for observations, coaching, and trainings. Your council contact or QI navigator will be able to assist you in answering this question. We hold all required credentials for trainings, observations, and credentialed coaching hours.
Early childhood councils across the state are doing a great job and are an amazing resource for you, and we are too! As previous raters, who have observed hundreds of classrooms for Colorado Shines, so our perspective is a bit different.
In trainings, we educate the teachers on commonly missed indicators and what can they do differently. Following a baseline observation, the observer holds a 30 minute meeting with the teachers, so they get in the moment feedback about best practices. Our teachers really enjoy the immediate feedback and opportunity to ask questions.
We intentionally work with a selected few sites to provide individualized attention. You can take our trainings, schedule observations, or use our other consultative services whenever you want to, rather
then just in your rating window. We know that new teachers need more trainings, coaching, and support. We provide that support to give them the best start. Our goal is to work with programs regardless of their location or their size. We are partnering with programs in rural counties, in
mountain communities, and in the Denver metro area.
We believe it is all about variety of different perspectives supporting your program needs. When you need services, it is great to have options. We are glad now we are there for you as well.
