My name is Sobia, and I have been in the early childhood field for more than 25 years. My career has included many roles, including teacher, family childcare provider, center director, childcare center owner, trainer, coach, consultant, and quality assessor. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of both the challenges and rewards of working in and leading early childhood programs.
Before starting Colorado Childcare Consulting, I worked as a quality assessor, conducting ERS and CLASS observations in early childhood programs across Colorado. Having also experienced the quality improvement process as an owner and director, I understand the importance of practical, ongoing support for educators and leaders.
My passion for social-emotional development led me to become a certified Pyramid Plus Approach Trainer in 2015 and later a Colorado Pyramid Model Facilitator. I am a credentialed early childhood coach, Reflective Supervision Consultant, and certified observer in TPOT, TPITOS, ERS-3, and Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K CLASS. Over the years, I have trained and coached hundreds of early childhood professionals.
Today, Colorado Childcare Consulting partners with early childhood programs through professional development, coaching and mentoring, reflective supervision, classroom observations, and individualized consultation. We conduct CLASS, ERS-3, TPOT, and TPITOS observations, including observations supporting Colorado Demonstrated Competencies.
We also support educators and leadership teams with implementing and sustaining Pyramid Model practices across classrooms and programs.
Every program has unique strengths and needs. We work with you to identify your goals and provide practical, individualized support that helps educators, leaders, and programs continue to grow.
We work with a team of quality improvement specialists to help provide you with the services your program needs. All of our team members are former assessors for the QRIS and have been reliable in the ITERS-3, ECERS-3, and Pre-K CLASS tools and maintain certification in the tools. They are experienced professionals with an eye for detail and accurate scoring, and have backgrounds in performing high stakes observations.
At Colorado Childcare Consulting, our mission is to work with early childhood programs and providers. We strive to support the community on quality initiatives. We want to help the programs create and maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment for all children and staff which promotes social and emotional competence as a foundation for developing the whole child.
We believe that the adults are the most important part of a child’s learning environment. ECE teachers need the support and knowledge to improve their practices in the classrooms. To achieve high child outcomes, we need to empower our childcare workforce.
In Colorado, early childhood education programs have a lot of compliance requirements. There are so many opportunities for growth and quality improvement. We want to be your partner and help you succeed in bringing quality components in your programs. Together we can take your program to the next level!
