My name is Sobia. I have been in early childcare for over 22 years. My career encompasses a wide variety of roles and experiences. I have taught in and directed early childhood programs. I have also been a childcare center owner, director, and family childcare home provider. Most recently, I was a quality assessment and Quality Data associate with Clayton Early Learning for the Colorado Shines Quality Rating and Improvement System. For Colorado Shines quality rating system, I observed many programs for Environmental Rating Scales and conducted many CLASS tool observations.
I have a passion for learning. That put me on the path to becoming a certified Pyramid Plus Approach Trainer in 2015 and now a Pyramid Colorado Facilitator. I am a credentialed coach and hold certifications in many tools including TPOT, TPITOS, ERS-3 scales, Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K CLASS Tool Observer. I am also a Reflective Supervision Consultant. I have trained and coached hundreds of early childhood professionals.
I started Colorado Childcare Consulting because as a previous owner and director, I have seen how hard programs across the state are working to provide quality care. Having been through two Colorado Shines ratings as a director, I understand the importance of ongoing guidance, support, and professional development to train staff, learn the new QRIS indicator framework, and the latest ERS-3 observation scales.
I consult with programs to learn their needs and then provide services best aligned with their goals. From trainings to baseline observations, to reflective supervision, I can support you on your unique quality improvement journey!

We work with a team of quality improvement specialists to help provide you with the services your program needs. All of our team members are former assessors for the QRIS and have been reliable in the ITERS-3, ECERS-3, and Pre-K CLASS tools and maintain certification in the tools. They are experienced professionals with an eye for detail and accurate scoring, and have backgrounds in performing high stakes observations.

We want to help the programs create and maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment for all children and staff which promotes social and emotional competence as a foundation for developing the whole child.
We believe that the adults are the most important part of a child’s learning environment. ECE teachers need the support and knowledge to improve their practices in the classrooms. To achieve high child outcomes, we need to empower our childcare workforce.
